Everything is Happening

And just like that I'm staring down Thanksgiving which means the rest of the holidays and first a milestone birthday for Mamma are lurking just around the corner.

How did this happen? Where did October and November go? I've checked with a number of you and everyone seems to be missing October and November so I decided to do some investigating and here's what I learned: October and November are having a blast. They are honestly two of the best months of the year. But frankly they're tired of our bitching and moaning about being too busy and what's to come and what's already happened so they've up and left. They're outside having a bonfire and a glass of wine with smore's

And this:
- Instead of bemoaning her daughters independent, fiery nature and recently celebrated 4th birthday, October is celebrating by showering the ground with a golden glow.
- As a reward for everyone that sweat through June, July, August and September, October is blowing a cool breeze on our heads and ruffling our hair like children, encouraging us to play.
 - October is reuniting with her childhood best friend and reminiscing, driving, soaking and laughing on the other side of the country. October is grateful her family can spare her and miss her at the same time.
- October can see her friend rise from the dark place. She can take her arm and lead her to the garden. She can cry because she's both happy and sad.
- November is acknowledging her baby boy, her biggest teacher and watching him grown into himself more and more every day.
-November is reading his stories and listening to his laughs with his best buddies at a sleep over. November is not complaining of all of the class obligations, she is feeling grateful that lots of kids that are not her own know her by name and greet her with a hug at school, on field trips and playdates.
 - November has stopped apologizing to herself about not losing that 20lbs that found it's way on to her body. She's looking forward to a workout, right after her nap. Because it makes her feel good, not to punish herself.
 - November is ready to welcome her best buddy December in with open arms. Because December comes family and friends that will come together to dance and celebrate and remember and laugh. And with that 39 will welcome 40. She will not focus on her face or her body size or her life accomplishments. She will look around the room and feel the love - every day. That is her charge. She is December and she is no lamb. She is strong and fierce and brave enough to get quiet and to be still. She is learning. She is almost 40 years young and she's just begun.
